Housing:

  • RTA – The Residential Tenancies Authority are a state government statutory authority that helps make renting work for everyone.  RTA provides tenancy information and support, bond management, dispute resolution, investigations and prosecutions, and education services.   • Tenants Queensland (TQ) – Providing specialist advice services for tenants, advocating on behalf of tenants, and securing improvements to Queensland’s residential tenancy laws. Phone: 1300 744 263 (cost of a local call) 9am–5pm Monday to Friday. Extended hours to 7pm Tuesday & Wednesday.
  • Ask Izzy – Ask Izzy is a new online directory which provides an A to Z of homelessness help. It lists more than 340,000 different services and will help you find a service near you.
  • Department of Housing – Housing Services Finder
  • Homeless Hotline – This is a phone information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Phone: 1800 47 47 53 (1800 HPIQLD) or TTY1800 010 222

Mental Health:

  • 13YARN – The first national crisis support line for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping. 13YARN offers a confidential one-on-one yarning opportunity with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter who can provide crisis support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 13YARN provides the opportunity to yarn without judgement and provide a culturally safe space to speak about their needs, worries or concerns.   • Lifeline – A national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services Phone: 13 11 14
  • Kids Helpline – Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free (even from a mobile), confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25. Phone:
  • eHeadspace – eHeadspace provides online and telephone support and counselling to young people 12 – 25 and their families and friends.

Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence:

  • 1800RESPECT – Australia’s National Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Counselling Service. 1800RESPECT provides information, referrals and counselling 24 hours a day, every day of the year to people all across Australia. Phone:
  • DVConnect – DVConnect helps Queenslanders find pathways to safety, away from domestic, family and sexual violence. They provide emergency transport and accommodation for your entire family including pets. They also provide safety planning, crisis counselling, intervention, information and referrals at no cost to you. They have specialised helplines for those experiencing issues (Womensline or Mensline), but if you identify as non-binary or gender fluid, you can call the helpline you feel most comfortable calling.
    • Womensline
      A free helpline for women and their children in Queensland experiencing domestic and family violence. Womensline provides individualised support and options to help people feel safe again, whether they want to stay in the home, are thinking about leaving, or have already left. Phone: 1800 811 811 (Freecall 24 hours, call not recorded on your phone account)
    • Mensline
      A free, confidential telephone counselling, referral, information and support service for men affected by domestic and family violence in Queensland. Mensline is staffed by male counsellors and can provide support for men to change their abusive behaviours, as well as safety planning, transport, information and referral for men who are experiencing domestic and family violence..     • Sexual Assault Helpline
      A free helpline for any person in Queensland who has experienced sexual assault or abuse. Phone: 1800 010 120
