What is Step into Housing?

Sharehouse’s Step into Housing program provides supported short-term accommodation within a two-bedroom unit for individuals, couples, and small families between the ages of 16 and 25 years. The units are fully furnished and individuals will be expected to share with another young person. The accommodation comes with the support of an onsite Youth Worker each day for a minimum of four hours.

Once you move in, you will be allocated your own Youth Worker who will work with you to develop an individualised case management plan designed to help you gain independent living and tenancy skills.

To be eligible for Step into Housing young people must meet the program criteria. Due to demand, availability may be limited however Sharehouse can assist you to find alternative accommodation.

How does it work?
