This Is Homelessness

Right now, there are over 20 000 people in Queensland who are homeless this includes young people, older people, single people, couples, families and single parents.

There are many circumstances that can lead to homelessness including financial difficulties, tight private rental market, domestic and family violence, family breakdown, unemployment, cross generational trauma, justice involvement, alcohol and drug misuse and mental illness.

National Homelessness week runs from 1-7 August but one week isn’t enough. So, for the month of August Specialist Homelessness Service providers in Townsville are working together to help you understand some of the circumstances or events that can lead to homelessness.
