Sharehouse Youth Programs Inc is a not-for-profit organisation, based in Townsville, that has been operating for over 40 years. Since opening a 5 bedroom house in 1979, Sharehouse has evolved into a community organisation that provides supported crisis accommodation, case management and mobile outreach for young people who are at risk of homelessness.
With support and funding from the Queensland State Governments Specialists Homelessness Services and Crisis Accommodation Programs, Sharehouse provides mobile support (outreach) and temporary supported accommodation to young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Sharehouse has a total of nineteen (19) units throughout the Townsville region. This includes 6 two bedroom units where staff are onsite 4 hours a day 7 days a week to supervise and support our young people. The remaining thirteen (13) units include two (2) single bed units. This range of accommodation allows Sharehouse to assist young people between the ages of 16 and 25, male or female, single, in a relationship or with a small family.
All of Sharehouse’s units are supported through varying levels of case management. Experienced youth workers will provide you with individual support to reach your goals which leads to securing long term accommodation.
